BioApp: Transregional technological platform for transfer of advanced bio-polymers from lab to market

The BioApp project presented a new strategic collaboration with a cooperative action of the complementary and interdisciplinary partners from neighboring regions, which reflected in a joint development of high added value products and services. The new transregional platform included partners from academia (University of Trieste, Trieste, Italy), public and private research institutes (COBIK, Centre of Excellence for Biosensors, Instrumentation and Process Control, Ajdovščina, Slovenia, and NIC, National Institute of Chemistry, Ljubljana, Slovenia), Biopolife and a medium-sized enterprise (Acies Bio d.o.o., Ljubljana, Slovenia), aiming to provide an integrated solution that combines natural resources and human wellbeing. All project partners benefited from the pilot technology development, by means of strengthening links and synergies among enterprises, research and development centers and the higher education sector.
